About modern brain washing

Even by the date of December 6 of 2013, there are still news about the nuclear leakage in Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plant site.
It is ver true that the polution has not stop, with under ground water pouring into the melted-down reactor and beig poluted. And upon hearing it, peole even far from Japan starts about it, about if sashimi are still safe, product from Japan are radio active.
Yet, hundreds of millions of peope sems to have forgotten about a lot f more radio active polutions in the past. That is not the Chernovi explosion, but thousands of nuclear weapon tests conducted by United State, Soviet Union, French, China etc. Manyof them have left incredible amount of radio active debris, ad poluted many water sources.
The second major site is  Pacific Proving Grounds in Marshall Islands. Ten other tests took place at various locations in the United States, including Alaska, Nevada other than the NNSS/NTS,Colorado, Mississippi, and New Mexico.
For example, the Nevada test site is still one of he radioactively cotaminated area in US. " Although radioactivity levels in the water continue to decline over time, the longer-lived isotopes could pose risks to workers or future settlers on the NNSS for tens of thousands of years."(wikipedia)
There had been countless nuclear weapon tested simply in he air, making people living near the test ste sick directly. But the radioactive polution to the world is barely known. For one thing many coutries had not been wealthy enough to even think about any polutions but tomorrow's meal. But just similar to the Nvada site, it will take ten of thousands of years before they decline to a really safe level.
Compared to the contaminatons above, the one in Japan is not any more serious by any standard. Yet the media just love to fan some fire of fear, emphasizing only on the keyword of RADIOACTIVE. And almost all peope are frightened by it. Starting to worry about their own life, or friends and relatives living in Japan.
One more thing people should really start to worry about is the radioactive waste from th nuclear power plants (US only has over 100 of them). It will take the same tens of thousands of years before they become safe wasts. The ony thing people can think of is to wrap them up and bury them deep under the ground.
Some countries, such as Canada, Finland tc.,  have offerred the burial site, it then becomes the worry of those country only.
Before talking about global warming problems, shoulden'd people start to think about saving energy simply to reduce those radioactive wasts? The media conveniently forgrets about it. Maybe most the medias are using as much or even more energy. Although there reports about the debates, yet in depth follow ups are seldom seen.

One other good exampe is fashion industry. People are so much brain-washed, that once the media says "this yar's trend is color red and boots", everybody will start to follow it instantly, without even thinking twice. Where is the individuality, the independency, the freedom?

Why? The media is so powerful that even any kind of bible is not as effective. Those who do not follow the "trend" will almost feel guilty, embarrassed, and iolated, because everybody else is following and everybody else is talking in harmony with the media.

One more exampl is cosmetic industry. Aging is the keyword to frighten people, to drive them to purchase all kinds of "anti-aging" products.
